Major improvements has been added to the project and I am proud to soon be\u00a0able to release version 2.0, a release that features a new and simpler API,\u00a0and a stack approach that is highly customizable when it comes to adding new\u00a0features.<\/p>\n

I would really love to get some feedback on the current state before\u00a0releasing\u00a0the new version, so as to make it as successful as possible, and so I turn to you.<\/p>\n

Please, take a look at the repository at\u00a0http:\/\/github.com\/oyvindkinsey\/easyXDM\/<\/a>, view the new documentation at\u00a0http:\/\/easyxdm.net\/v2.0.0\/docs\/<\/a>, run the\u00a0tests at\u00a0http:\/\/easyxdm.net\/v2.0.0\/tests\/<\/a> or download the code at\u00a0http:\/\/easyxdm.net\/v2.0.0\/source.zip<\/a>, and if you\u00a0feel\u00a0like it, give me some feedback either on this mailing list, or as an Issue\u00a0at\u00a0Github<\/a>.
\nSome of the new features planned can be viewed at\u00a0http:\/\/wiki.github.com\/oyvindkinsey\/easyXDM\/planned-features<\/a>, and I’ll continue to update this list as new ideas show up.<\/p>\n

By the way, moving to the new API is really simple and only requires a few\u00a0small changes – this is all shown in the examples.<\/p>\n

And to show one of them, here is the new xhr.html sample<\/a>, which shows how to use the easyXDM.Rpc (the old Interface class) together with the bundled xhr.html<\/a> document.<\/p>\n

This will give you an instance of easyXDM.Rpc<\/a> that exposes a method quite similar to the one many frameworks use for doing AJAX calls…<\/p>\n

.. and hey presto, you have cross-domain AJAX without the inherent security issues that other approaches like JSONP has.
\nBy the way, if anybody wants to contribute (as some has started to) feel free to do\u00a0so!
\nWhat the project needs the most is a decent logo, a proper website (maybe something\u00a0like\u00a0http:\/\/www.dotnetopenauth.net\/<\/a>) and to have the documentation extended\u00a0with samples etc like the ones at\u00a0http:\/\/www.extjs.com\/deploy\/dev\/docs\/?class=Ext.form.ComboBox<\/a> .<\/p>\n
